Melba M. Berryman

Melba M. Berryman age 88 of Metamora, Illinois formerly of Peoria passed away at 6:00am Saturday July 29, 2013 at Snyder Village in Metamora. She was born July 7, 1924 in Modesto, Illinois to Earl and Flossie (Loveless) Crayne. She married Morgan "Keith" Berryman on Oct. 5, 1942 in New London, Missouri and he survives. Surviving is one daughter, Melanie Shearer of Peoria. Grandchildren, Angela (Matthew) Choberka, Jason Pownall, Erin (Branden) Martin, Kate (Jake) Vandiver and great grandchildren, Haleigh, Olivia, Zachary, and Lucian. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Berryman, brothers, Morris and Clarence Crayne and nephew David Crayne. Melba was a life long member of Dayton Avenue Baptist Church in Peoria where she was a Sunday School Teacher and was a School Crossing Guard for District #150. Member of Caterpillar Retirees Club and had volunteered along with her husband to deliver meals, plant flowers, and visit with Snyder Village residents. She was a avid gardener, competitive card player, and pie maker who loved spending time with her grandchildren more than anything else in the world. Funeral services will be at 11:00am Wednesday July 3, 2013 at Dayton Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Richardson officiating. Visitation will one hour prior to services at the church.
