WASHINGTON...McKinney Smith, 90, formerly of Washington, passed away at 1:57 p.m., Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Missouri. Mack was born on November 11, 1921 in Houston, Missouri to Virgil and Leoda McKinney Smith. He married Mary Ann Karpuck on October 4, 1942 in Peoria. Mary Ann passed away on May 31, 2012 in Missouri. Among those surviving is one daughter, Judy (Rudy) Wilson of Arbela, Missouri; one granddaughter, Mary Alice (Brian) Brand of Knoxville, Illinois; one grandson, Jordan (Kim) Wilson of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and his great grandchildren, Brandon, Travis and Heather Wilson, Casey (Andrew Motz) Cramer and a great great grandson Juliane Motz. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Eillison and one sister, Lillian Swanson. Mack had worked for Hiram Walker for more than 30 years as a stationary operating engineer prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Stationary Engineers Local #8 and had served as it?s president for eight years. While growing up as a child in Peoria, Mack played in the Dutch Hill area on the farm, which is the same area as Lutheran Cemetery now, which is where Mack will be buried. As a youth Mack enjoyed going hunting with his father. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge in Peoria. Funeral services for Mack will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Bob DeBolt officiating. Visitation will be half hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated to the Alzheimer?s Association.
