Mary Elizabeth Zoss

Mary Elizabeth Zoss age 84 of Washburn, Illinois passed away at 9:45pm Thursday March 20, 2014 at Snyder Village Assisted Living in Metamora. She was born Jan. 24, 1930 in Shelbyville, Illinois to Peter and Ida Belle (Hostetler) Eigsti. She married Kenneth E. Zoss on Sept. 18, 1949 in Roanoke, IL., and he survives. Surviving are her children, Rick (Phyllis) Zoss of Canon City, CO., Susan (Steve Clayton) Zoss of Washburn, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Two daughter-in-laws Mary Anne Zoss of Low Point, and Dianna Sparks of Chillicothe. Also surviving are her siblings, Nellie Hostetler of Casa Grande, AZ., Edna Schupp of Goshen, IN., Art Eigsti of Eureka, and Rosie Ulrich of Roanoke. Three sons, Robert, Jerry and Ronald Zoss, 1 sister and 1 brother preceded her in death. In her early years Mary liked to sew, and do crafts. She enjoyed baking, China painting, was an avid Cardinal baseball fan never missing a game and always had cookies and coffee in the afternoon. When she was younger she accepted Christ and was a life long member of Linn Mennonite Church in Roanoke. Funeral services will be at 10:30am Tuesday March 25, 2014 at Linn Mennonite Church in Roanoke with Steve Ulrich officiating. Visitation will be from 4pm until 6pm Monday at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel. Burial will be in Stewart Harmony Cemetery.
