Mary Lou Taylor

Mary Lou Taylor, 77, of Metamora, IL passed away at 8:40 pm on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria, IL. She was born on October 8, 1939 in Peoria, IL to Archibald and Mary (Herbst) Thomson. Surviving are her son Steven (Leslie) Goins of Smithville, MO; sister Nancy (Gary) Lelm of Germantown Hills; niece Julie (Scott) Thompson of Goshen, KY; great-nieces Jordyn and Lauryn Thompson and Ansley Lelm; great-nephew Aiden Lelm; and three grand-dogs Addison, Kaylee, and Zsa Zsa. She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew Roger Lelm. Mary Lou worked clerical at Caterpillar for 35 years. She was a member of Caterpillar Retirees. She volunteered at Wildlife Prairie Park. She enjoyed traveling and dinner theaters. She was a Cardinals fan. Mary Lou will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 11:00 am at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Pastor Gary Salm officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to her service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Wildlife Prairie State Park, 3826 North Taylor Road, Hanna City, IL 61536.
