WASHINGTON...Mary Ann Smith, 89, formerly of Washington, passed away at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, May 31 at Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, Missouri. Mary Ann was born on November 22, 1922 in Peoria to Andrew and Anna Kulisz Karpuk. She married McKinney Smith 70 years ago. McKinney survives. Also surviving is one daughter, Judy (Rudy) Wilson of Arbela, Missouri; one grandson, Jordan (Kim) Wilson; one granddaughter, Mary Alice (Bryan) Brand; four great grandchildren and a great great grandson. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Connie Ellison; one brother, Mike Williams and her parents. Mary Ann worked for many years at the ICC bookstore. She will always be remembered as a wonderful, hardworking mother and taking special time for her family. and helping her many friends. Funeral services for Mary Ann will be at Mason-White Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 5 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Bob DeBolt officiating. Burial will follow in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. Visitation will be half hour prior to services on Tuesday. Memorials for Mary Ann may be directed to the Alzheimer?s Association.
