Mary Vivian Marie (Quin) Metz, 85 0f Germantown Hills, Illinois passed away at 7:55am Sunday May 11, 2014 at her son?s residence in Germantown Hills. She was born June 23, 1928 in Trivoli, Illinois the daughter of Floyd and Lucile (McDonnell) Quin. She married Michael Charles Metz on July 29, 1950 at St. Mary?s Cathedral in Peoria, Illinois. He survives her. Vivian is also lovingly survived by her four children, Margie (Steve) O?Connor of Crete, IL., Donna (Ron) Smith of Metamora, Michele (Bob) Prunty of E. Peoria, Bob (Pam) Metz of Germantown Hills and 12 grandchildren Sean (Fran) O?Connor, Jeremiah Smith, Renee Prunty, Shannon (Josh) Reading, Tiffany Prunty, Sabrina (Wally) Good, Jon (Chrissy) Metz, Heather (Nate) Lambert, Jennifer (Chris) Gurrie , Patrick (Emilie) O?Connor, Tyler Prunty, and Olivia Prunty; and 20 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 brothers, Robert (Maurine) Quin and Ronald Quin both of Florida, 2 sisters, Sister Margie Quin of St. Louis, MO. and Karen (Gordy) Foote of North Carolina as well as many others who considered her grandma. 1 brother Kenneth Quin preceded her in death. Vivian graduated from Academy of Lady, Peoria in 1947 and enjoyed working at Lester?s Tasty Donuts as a young adult. She loved horses and rode them from the time she was young child including trick riding. She spent lots of time camping and fishing with Mike, the trips often included other friends or family. Since 1985 she spent several weeks or months out of each year with Mike in Florida most at Fairview Village, in Winter Haven, Florida. She was a member of St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in Germantown Hills. Most of all Vivian loved being around family and friends. Her dedication and service in this life was always to her family A Funeral mass will be at 10:00am Wednesday May 14, 2014 at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Neri Greskoviak officiating. Recitation of the rosary will be 4:30pm Tuesday with visitation to follow from 5pm until 7pm at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary of Lourdes Cemetery.
