Mary Marcia Lidwell

Mary Marcia Lidwell, 78, of Germantown Hills, IL passed away at 3:50 am on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Morton Villa Care Center in Morton, IL. She was born on January 24, 1939 in Canton, IL to John and Neva Bernice (Smith) O'Malley. She married William Roger "Bill" Lidwell on January 31, 1960 in Lewistown, IL. He passed away on January 1, 2016.

Surviving are her daughters Lisa (Tom) Batters of Germantown Hills and Angi (Jim) Smith of Glendale, Arizona; five grandchildren Ashley Smith, Alexa Smith, Jordan (Kevin) Riley, Rylee Smith, and Brendan Batters; and one great-granddaughter Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Veanna Schwanebeck, and sister-in-law Judy (Dick) Ellsworth.

Mary was a medical office assistant at Methodist Hospital, a cashier at Aldi in Peoria, and an account representative for Kelly Temporary Services. She and Bill moved to Madeira Beach, Florida in 1986 to manage Collwood Condominiums together and moved back to Illinois in 1998. Mary was a member of Germantown Christ Church, Job's Daughters and 4H House at University of Illinois. She loved tole painting and china painting but especially loved her grandchildren!

Marcia was a wonderful mother. She had a quick wit and could walk into an elevator and come out with two new friends. She was strong willed and could drop the temperature of a room 20 degrees with one look. She was a loyal friend and loved by many.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel. Cremation rites will be accorded following her visitation. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown, IL at a later date. Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
