Mary Ann Hyten

Mary Ann Hyten, 86, of Eureka, IL, formerly of Washington, IL passed away peacefully at 11:50pm on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Maple Lawn Health Care Center in Eureka. She was born on December 24, 1929 in Washington, IL to Casper and Cora (Lowry) Faubel. She married Lester W. Hyten on April 10, 1953 in St. Louis, MO. He passed away on March 28, 1995 in East Peoria. Her parents, one sister Virginia Myers and one son in law David Portscheller also preceded her in death. Surviving are her children Mary Portscheller (Dean) Chapman, Jane (Vernel) Martin, Wayne (Bettye) Pruss, Carolyn (Bill) Sneed, Marilyn (Mike) Brown and Lori Miller. Also surviving are her stepchildren Wanda (Bob) Stork, Jay (Paula) Hyten, Doyle (Bette) Hyten and Phyllis Hecker. Further surviving are 22 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 4 nephews 2 nieces and one sister Arnola "Bud" Wright of Washington, IL. Mary Ann had worked as a clerk at Don's Pharmacy in Washington for 35 years where she enjoyed many lifelong friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of Maple Lawn Health Care Center for their kind and compassionate care. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 11, 2016 at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Doane Brubaker officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Private family burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, Washington.
