WASHINGTON?Mary J. Anders, 84, of Washington, passed away at 10:55 a.m., Saturday, April 4, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Mary was born on May 2, 1930 in Chenoa to Glenn and Aldine (Schopp) Lee. She married James F. Anders in Bloomington on February 3, 1951. Jim passed away in Peoria on May 21, 1997. Among those surviving are four children, Denise (Dave) Blanken of Matthews, N.C., Greg (Kris) Anders of Dunlap, Keith (Sue) Anders of Santan Valley, AZ. And Kevin (Jeanne) Anders of Washington; one brother, Keith (Margie) Lee of Washington; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Mary was also preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Mary will always be remembered for the loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother that she was. She was always independent and had her opinions as well as keeping up on current events. Mary could have a current conversation with grandchildren without using a computer or cellphone. The visits to Grandma?s house always included candy, because Mary would have the bowls of chocolates always ready. She was a member of St. Patrick?s Catholic in Washington since 1958, when she and Jim moved to town. A Mass to celebrate Mary?s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at St. Patrick?s with Father Stephen Willard officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Mason-White Funeral Home is assisting the family in arrangements.
