Mary Lou Adams

Mary Lou Adams age 85 of Metamora, Illinois passed away at 6:24pm Tuesday September 4, 2013 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. She was born August 29, 1928 in Mason City, Illinois to Leo and Mattie (Vaughn) Christy. She married Wayne Adams on July 10, 1948 in Pekin, Illinois and he passed away on Nov. 20, 2011. Surviving are two daughters, Margie (Robert) Highfill of Washington, and Mary (Mike) Curry of Metamora. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son Jake Adams in 2005 and one sister Kathleen Christ. Mary was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Metamora, and the Creve Coeur Womens Club. She enjoyed cooking and being a homemaker and loved animals. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am Friday Sept. 6, 2013 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church with Father John Verrier and Father Ron Dodd officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00am until 10:00am Friday at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel. Cremation rites will be accorded after Mass. Burial of Ashes will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Childrens Home of Peoria or TAPS.
