Marvin K. Ioerger, age 83, of Metamora, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, at his residence at 12:00 midnight on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. He was born in Peoria, IL on December 7, 1934, the first born child of Clarence L. and Vera A. (Klein) Ioerger. Marvin married Frances M. Gardner on May 25, 1957, at St Bernard's Catholic Church in Peoria, IL. Frances preceded Marvin in death on December 26, 2012. Marvin is survived by daughters, Karen (Rich) Oljace of Washington, IL and Marianne (Gary) Skinner of Normal, IL; sons, Michael (Tracey) and Edward (Heather) Ioerger, both of Metamora, David (Samantha) Ioerger of Pekin, IL and Jacob (Nicci) Ioerger of North Aurora, IL; son-in-law, David K. Shirk of Washington, IL; grandchildren Jason Oljace, Amy (Adam) Schertz, Kaitlyn Oljace, Angela Skinner, Deborah Skinner, Emily (Doug) Valerio, Luke Ioerger, Cassidy Ioerger, Joshua (Jordyn Ellis) Shirk, Nicholas Shirk, Katherine Ioerger, Samuel Ioerger, Maxwell Ioerger, Anna Ioerger, Austin Ioerger, Audrey Ioerger, A.J. Ioerger, and Vera Ioerger; great-grandchildren Boone and Tatum Schertz; and five sisters-in-law, Barb Ioerger of East Peoria, IL, Judy Ioerger of Metamora, IL, Millie Banister of Pekin, IL, Sister Lucille Gardner of Sinsinawa, WI, and Nancy Gardner of Bartonville, IL. He was preceded in death by daughter, Michelle Marie Shirk, his parents, brothers Leland and Joseph Ioerger, and sister Mary Sharon Kiesewetter Gentry.

Marvin graduated from Metamora Township High School in 1952. He worked at Caterpillar for 42 years, starting as a welder and retiring as a General Supervisor over maintenance. Marvin lived his life in service of his faith, family, and community. Examples of his civic involvement include his service on St. Mary's Catholic School committees, Lourdes Catholic Church councils and Woodford County Board, Road, Bridge, Soil, and Water Conservation committees. He was a lifelong resident of Woodford County and a lifelong member of St Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church. When Marvin wasn't busy with the above, he loved to hunt, play horseshoes, and play the fiddle with family and friends. He was a diehard University of Notre Dame and Chicago White Sox fan. He will be greatly missed by his family, and will always be a part of them.

Marvin's family would like to thank the Parish staff at St. Mary of Lourdes, OSF Home Health Care and Hospice, and ResCare as well as all of his outstanding physicians and nurses, especially those at Heartcare Midwest including Dr. Chetan Bhardwaj, Ally B. and Emily C. for their wonderful and compassionate care.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, April 13, 2018 at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in Metamora, IL with church clergy officiating. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 3:30 pm on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with visitation to follow from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Burial will be in St. Mary of Lourdes Cemetery in Metamora. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Saint Mary's Grade School, 415 West Chatham Street, Metamora, IL 61548.
