Mark A. Doublin, age 70, of Metamora, IL, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL.

He was born on April 14, 1954, in Puxico, MO, to Herman and Dorothy Christine Doublin. He married Donna Whaley on March 21, 1992, in Columbia Station, OH.

Surviving are his wife, Donna of Metamora; son, Michael Doublin of Spring Bay, IL; sister, Carol (Jim) Ring of Metamora; nieces Debbie (Greg) Harmon and Vickie (Kevin) Brinkman all of Metamora; many cousins in Missouri; and many relatives in Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Dean Doublin.

Mark's hobby was nature photography. He spent countless hours at the Mingo National Wildlife Refuge in Puxico, MO. When he moved to Illinois, he won many ribbons and acceptances for his photography through the Peoria Camera Club. In his spare time he was known to roam around his property or drive around the rural areas catching images of flowers, insects, barns, and clouds.

Mark was a Bible student as he spent many hours going over his Sunday School lessons and contributing to the Sunday morning discussions in class. Many have commented how his contributions in class have helped them to understand the Bible's message. His presence will be missed on Sunday mornings.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Saturday August 17, 2024 at Metamora Fields Golf Club.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Mingo National Wildlife Refuge, 24279 St. Hwy 51, Puxico, MO 63460 with In Memory of Mark Doublin in the memo line.
