Marjorie A. Scherf

Marjorie A. Scherf age 90 of Germantown Hills, Illinois passed away at 11:30am Monday Dec. 31, 2012 at her residence. She was born April 25, 1922 in Decatur, Illinois to O. Frank and Alma (Johnson) Lee. She married Burl E. White on Nov. 7, 1941 in Peoria, and he died in 1965, she then married Robert W. Scherf on Dec. 6, 1969 in Peoria and he died in 1996. Surviving are her children, Carol Stickelmaier of Metamora, Patricia (Gary) Thewlis of Sevierville, TN., Roland White of E. Peoria, Linda (Chris) Reinmann of Metamora, Chis (Jodi) White of Germantown Hills. 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother Richard Lee of Calabasa, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, a daughter in law and a son in law. Marjorie was a 1940 graduate of E. Peoria High School where she excelled in athletics. Former custodian of the Metamora Court House, and owner with her husband of Germantown Well Drilling where she was the Bookkeeper. She loved gardening, yard work and will be remembered as the lady who, on her Woods lawnmower was seen mowing along Route 116 in Germantown Hills. Marjorie loved her children and grand kids and was of the Christian faith. Funeral services will be at 11:00am Saturday Jan. 5, 2013 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Father Neri Greskoviak. Visitation will be Friday from 4pm until 6pm at the funeral home and also one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary of Lourdes Cemetery in rural Metamora. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Methodist Hospice, American Heart Association, Susan G. Komen Breast Center, and American Diabetes Association.
