Marjorie Elizabeth Glover, 93, of Eureka, IL, formerly of Washington, IL, went home to be with Jesus at 4:45 am on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at Eureka Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka, IL.
Marjorie was born on May 1, 1932 at the family farm in Eureka, IL, a daughter of John and Caroline (Kyburz) Wettstein. She was previously married to Howard Nelson in 1950. She later married David L. Glover in 1965. He preceded her in death in October 1991.
Marjorie is survived by her children, Curt Nelson of Scottsdale, AZ, Cathy (Tim) Toth of Warrenville, IL, and Candy Glover of Lyons, IL; her grandchildren, Whitney Lavaux of Atlanta, GA, Carey (Max) Boelter of Colorado Springs, CO, Carly (Jens) Dolmseth, Keith (Maddy) Nelson, and Kevin Nelson all of Scottsdale, AZ, Samantha (Ryan) Toth and Alex (Emily) Toth all of Dallas, TX, Adam Toth of St. Paul, MN, Ciara Beatty of Lyons, IL, Gailie Glover of Chicago, IL, and Danaan Boyd of Port St. Lucie, FL; her great grandchildren, Gabriella and Sophia Nelson of Scottsdale, AZ and Evangeline and Madeleine Sermas, Henry and Eleanor Toth all of Dallas, TX, Chloe and Mia Boelter of Colorado Springs, CO; her siblings, Barbara (Norman) Ricketts of Morton, IL, Vernon (Judy) Wettstein of Eureka, IL, and Norman (Terry) Wettstein of Eureka, IL: and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Her daughter Linda (Rick) Lavaux of Washington, IL preceded her in death in August 2012 as did her daughter Cindy (Bill) Boyd of Fort Pierce, FL in January 2023. She was also preceded in death by her parents John and Caroline (Kyburz) Wettstein and her siblings, Donald, Loren, John Jr., Glen, Marvin, Wayne, Dorothy Washer, and Caroline Bucher.
Marjorie worked for many years as a dental assistant to Dr. Blue in Peoria, IL. She was an active member in the United Methodist Church of Peoria, IL regularly serving meals to the less fortunate and being a Reading Buddy to several school age children. Marjorie was a long-time member of the local chapter of Home Extension and was well known for baking the most delicious pies, for the concerts in the Metamora park, often using fruit she grew and harvested herself! She was a big fan of the Chicago Cubs and all the local youth sports teams too. Marjorie was very active and engaged her entire life, always lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 3:30 pm on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington, IL with a funeral service beginning at 3:30 pm. Cremation rites will be accorded following her service and her ashes will be interred in Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora, IL following a Celebration of Life service in March 2026. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Five Points Washington, 360 North Wilmor Road, Washington, IL 61571.
