Marilyn S. Gee, 84, of East Peoria, IL, died on August 09, 2024, at her residence.
She was born on February 26, 1940, to Maurice and Maxine Minor in Peoria. Marilyn married Thomas J. Rodgers on October 22, 1966, and he preceded her in death on November 22, 1996. She later married James E. Gee on November 10, 2001, in Washington, IL. James preceded her on December 15, 2012.
Further preceding Marilyn was one brother, David Minor and great-granddaughter, Camila Rodgers.
She is survived by her son, David (Jenise) Rodgers of Washington, IL; daughter, Susan (Lee) Katz of Washington, IL; three grandsons: Justin (Holly) Rodgers, Collin (Karley) Rodgers, and Benjamin (Emily Gasser) Rodgers; step grandson, Jared Katz; step granddaughter, Kristyn Katz; and four great-grandchildren: Shay, Lucas, Philipp, and Cohen Rodgers.
Marilyn graduated as salutatorian from Richwoods High School in 1958. She attended Northwestern University and graduated in 1962 with a bachelor's in music education. She worked for many years at Glamour Isle and later, Bergner's. Marilyn was the co-chairwoman of the Washington Art Festival.
She had a passion for clothing, making jewelry, and traveling. Marilyn enjoyed rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals and Illini basketball teams. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington, IL. A private burial will be at a later date in Glendale Cemetery in Washington, IL. Memorial donations may be made to Ruby's Rescue and Retreat or the American Cancer Society.
