Marilyn H. Marly Ziegel

Marilyn H. "Marly" Ziegel, 84, of Peoria Heights, IL passed away at 3:43 pm on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Unity Point Health Proctor, Peoria. She was born on September 11, 1930 in Manson, IA to Lucius Wayne and Myrtle (Nelson) Hyde. She was previously married to Wayne H. Ziegel of Manson, IA. Surviving are her children Jamie Landis of Peoria and Jeff (Becky) Ziegel of Metamora; grandchildren Jennifer (Jesse) Carter of Goofy Ridge, IL and Zachary (Holly) Ziegel of Washington; seven nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandchildren Chrissy Landis and Sgt Tyler W. Ziegel, USMC Retired, brother Lt. Col. Charles Hyde USAF Retired, and sister C. Annette Bodmer. Marly was a beloved member of Operation Santa, Central IL Proud Families of Marines, Central IL Gold Star Families where all knew her as Grandma Ziegel, and CIPL Women?s Sunday Pool League. She worked at RCA and for Total Income Tax, formerly Sharp Income Tax, of Peoria, was an entrepreneur having a second hand clothing store in the basement of her Washington home, owner of ice cream shops in Peoria, and enjoyed garages sales collecting treasures! A Celebration of Life Potluck will be held on Tuesday, May 12 from 4:00 until 7:00 pm at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 1704 South East Lane, Peoria. Cremation rites have been accorded.
