Marilyn P. (Markoski) Adams

Marilyn P. Adams, 94, died peacefully at her home at 11:00 pm on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from arthritic joints and onset of dementia that kept her confined to a hospital bed for the last two years. Marilyn was born on October 27, 1930 to Peter and Rose Markoski (Krieg) in Peoria, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, and a son Paul.

She is survived by her husband Raymond of 61 years; three daughters, Ann Biesemann (Frank), Carol Harris (Adam), Lisa Day (Charlie); one son Thomas (Marissa); two granddaughters Molly and Zoe Harris; and two grandsons Levi and Owen Adams.

Marilyn attended St. Mark Grade School and the Academy of Our Lady of Peace in Peoria and Marycrest College in Iowa.

After college she worked in several secretarial, clerical, and executive assistant positions. She had a very important skill set with excellent short hand capability. She was very much appreciated by high level managers and executives.

Marilyn retired from those jobs to take on a bigger role of mother to five children. She carried most of the job of raising the kids. Endless trips to doctors, schools, and play days more than filled her days.

As the children didn't need her every hour she took on volunteer work at church and hospitals. She formed many friendships with other volunteers. Anyone who had Marilyn as a friend was blessed. Marilyn was a good listener and supporter with those friends.

Marilyn had special skills as a seamstress. She made clothes for herself and children. She also made window treatments. Another major skill was as a cook.

Despite having somewhat of a messy husband and five children Marilyn maintained a very well organized home. If you put your hands on one of her prize decorations you better put it back in place!

Marilyn's foundation in life was her Catholic faith. She lived a life of a person that was in concert with the teachings of Our Savior. May she be rewarded in eternity for her dedicated life.

Visitation will be from 8:30 am to 10:30 am on Friday, May 16, 2025 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, IN followed by a funeral Mass at St. Malachy Catholic Church at 11:00 am. A luncheon will follow at Highland Golf & Country Club, 1050 52nd St., Indianapolis, IN 46228.
