Marie Emma Protrowski (Petrosky)

Marie Emma Protrowski, 93, of Metamora, IL passed away at 10:12 am on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria. She was born on January 16, 1924 in Goodfield, IL to William E. and Emma M. (Moser) Reeser. She married Charles J. Protrowski on March 10, 1946 in Eureka, IL. He passed away on February 3, 2002.

Surviving are children Charles "Chuck" (Mary) Petrosky of Canfield, OH, David (Jeannie) Petrosky of Vesalia, CA, Joan (the late Dr. Jim) Gilson of North Las Vegas, NV, Valerie Petrosky of Peoria, Anita (Thomas) Ryan of Peoria, Annette (Drew) Vanderwulp of Peoria, Susan Petrosky of Tempe, AZ, and Laurie (the late Mike) Moore of Edwardsville, IL; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; sister Edna (William) Tellkamp of Punta Gorda, FL; and brother Richard (Kay) Reeser of Morton. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and two brothers.

As a devoted mother, Marie was a kind and generous person. She was an avid gardener, loved animals, especially cats, and on a cool Fall evening a good bonfire. She was a league bowler, square dancer, and played on women's softball teams. She was involved in many church activities, including regularly singing with the choir. She will be deeply missed by friends, family, and all who knew her.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, November 3, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Metamora with Father Greg Jozefiak officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until time of her service on Friday at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery with military rites accorded.
