Marie V. (Brown) Swanson

Marie V. (Brown) Swanson age 98 of Peoria, IL, formerly of Metamora, IL, passed away at 8:20am Saturday April 14, 2012 at Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria. She was born Jan. 15, 1914 in Lincoln, IL to Abraham and Ethel (Sturgeon) Fulscher. She married Leo Brown Jr. June 20, 1936 in Peoria and he died in 1963. She then married Leonard Swanson on Aug. 2, 1969 in Peoria and he died in 1995. Surviving is one son James Brown of Peoria, and a step daughter Rita (Arthur) Carlson of Luing, LA. Grandchildren; Julie (Todd) Beagle, Tina Winkler, Karen Gallup, Jennifer (Steve) Barber, Melissa (Andy) Svymbersky, Robert Brown, Michael (Trisha) Carlson, James (Shelie) Carlson, Lynn (Jeffery) Swearingen, and 19 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters Ruby Robbins of Rossville, IL and Irene Krus of Peoria. She was preceded in death by a son Robert Brown, a step daughter Sharon Swanson and 2 brothers and one sister. Marie was a secretary working at WABCO in Peoria for 25 years and retiring in 1976. Member of Parkview Christian Church in Peoria and she had a great love for her children. Funeral services will be at 11:00am Thursday April 19, 2012 at Parkview Christian Church with Rev. Steve Barch officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00am until service time at the church. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to her church.
