Marianne Irmgard Kjormoe

Marianne Irmgard Kjormoe, 85, who was most recently a resident of Snyder Village Assisted Living and Snyder Village Health Care in Metamora, IL, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Unity Point Health- Methodist in Peoria, IL.  Marianne was born in Hanau, Germany on January 12, 1935 to Willy August and Emmy (Lieber) Walther.

She married Edward Kjormoe, Jr. on January 12, 1957 in Hanau, Germany and immigrated to the United States with him in November of that year.  They resided in Camanche, IA for 30 years before relocating to the Metamora area in 1987.  Edward "Papa Honey" passed away in 2003.

Marianne is survived by her three children, Lieselotte Kjormoe (Tim) Fitz of Metamora, Jerry Edward Kjormoe of Sabula, Iowa, and Robert Alan Kjormoe of East Peoria, IL; five grandchildren, Jennifer Fitz of Mackinaw, IL, Jacob (Luellen) Fitz of Metamora, IL,  Travis (Libby) Fitz of Morrison, CO, Shane (Amanda) Kjormoe, and Alisha Kjormoe Honeywell of Clinton, IA; and thirteen great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are three sisters, Emmy Hilliard of Fairfield, IL, Renate Ignee of Hanau, Germany, and Gisela Moler of Bowling Green, KY, and many, many beloved nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Michael Kjormoe, six brothers, Karl, Willy, Rolf, Friedel, and Otto Walther all of Hanau, Germany and Hans Walther of Australia, and one sister, Anne Marie of Hanau, Germany.

Marianne was a member of the former Ascension Lutheran Church in Germantown Hills and most recently, Trinity Lutheran Church in Roanoke, IL.

Cremation rites will be accorded and her ashes will be buried beside her "Honey" in Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora.  Due to the covid pandemic, no service will take place at this time.  A memorial/celebration of life will be scheduled for a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Snyder Village Residents in Need Fund, 1200 East Partridge Street, Metamora, IL 61548.
