Marguerite Jane Eilers

Marguerite Jane Eilers, 97, of Washington, IL. passed away at 2:03 p.m., May 12, 2017, at Snyder Village, in Metamora, IL. She is now with her husband and God in Heaven. She was born July, 9, 1919 is Eureka, IL, daughter of Andrew & Emma (Steffen) Schumacher. She married Laverne Eilers on December 9, 1938 in Roanoke, Il. He preceded her in death on October 29, 2008 in Peoria, IL. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Melvin and William Schumacher; 2 sisters, Elizabeth Leonard and Velda Ficht. Surviving are her two sons, Reynold "Ren" (Mary Lou Eilers) of Washington and Dennis (Rebecca) Eilers of Germantown, 6 Grandchildren, Renee (Mark) Williams, Eric (Christa) Eilers, Keven (Kris) Eilers, Kelly (Justin) Watt, Karolyn (Steve) Talbert, and Keith (Connie) Eilers. 11 Great Grandchildren, Blake &Jordan Watt, Ty Williams, Emmett Eilers, Megan & Matthew Eilers, Jacob, Connor, & Lucas Eilers, Audrey & Eli Talbert. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington for 65 years, where she taught Sunday school for a number of years and was a member of the Glori Dei-Friendship Mission. She was Secretary of Eilers Bros. Construction Co for 27 years. Marguerite was a member of the Kaufman Park Women's Golf League for 45 years, charter member of Washington Farm Bureau Home Extension for 65 years and a member of the Washington Historical Society. Marguerite and Laverne were long time members of the Avion Trailer Travel Club and traveled all over the United States, Alaska, Canada, Mexico, Peru, the Amazon in Brazil, Australia The GalA
