Margaret Weddle, 93, of Metamora, IL passed away at 12:15 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Unity Point Methodist Hospital in Peoria, IL. Margaret was born on February 19, 1923, to Frank and Nellie (Doyle) Brown in Arthur, IL. She married A.B. Weddle on December 6, 1941. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2014. They were married 72 years. She is survived by two sons, Jack (Marsha) Weddle of Metamora, IL and J. Daniel (Kathleen) Weddle of Manhattan, NY; one granddaughter, Emily Weddle of Manhattan; one grandson, Scott Weddle of Stevens Point, WI; four great-grandchildren, Katherine, Madeline, John, and Faith Weddle, all of Stevens Point; one nephew; and three nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother, John Brown. Margaret attended grade school in Monticello, IL and graduated from Monticello High School in 1941. She was the Homecoming Queen her senior year. Margaret and her husband A.B. lived in Cisco, IL where they started in the grocery business with her father -law at Weddle's IGA in Cisco. She was a member of the Cisco United Methodist Church. In 1963, the family moved to Havana, IL to open Weddle's IGA. In 1983 they retired and moved to North Fort Myers, FL where they lived for 23 years. She and A.B. moved to Metamora in 2008, and attended the Metamora Christian Union Church. Margaret was a homemaker and devoted to her family. She was a member of P.E.O, loved to play bridge and golf, and was an excellent cook. She and A.B. enjoyed a great life together and with many lifelong friends in all the communities where they have lived. Cremation has been accorded. Graveside services for both A. B. and Margaret will be held at Cronniger Cemetery in Cisco, IL at a later date. Memorials may be made to charities of the donor's choice.
