Margaret N. Schofield

Margaret N. Schofield, 90, of Metamora, IL passed away at 1:36 am on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria, IL, which would have been her 73rd wedding anniversary. She was born on October 14, 1927 in Flora, IL to Harry and Nina (Woods) Bute. She married William A. Schofield on March 9, 1945 in El Paso, Texas. He passed away on July 7, 2008.

Surviving are her daughter Karen (Cliff) McCarty of Metamora; grandchildren Barb Hunsinger of Morton, Suzy (Mike) Hopkins of Nashville, TN, Becci (Brandon) Noll of Roanoke, IL, and Krista McCarty of Metamora; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister Opal Parrish of Flora, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Jerry Schofield, and one great-grandchild.

Margaret was a supervisor in housecleaning at the Lutheran Home in Peoria, IL. She enjoyed playing games with her grandson Clayton, cooking for the holidays, doing crafts and Facebook.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Gary Salm officiating. Burial of ashes will be in Spring Bay Cemetery in Spring Bay, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Spring Bay Fire Department, 407 Caroline, Spring Bay, IL 61611 or the American Legion Post 1115, 500 Legion Lane, East Peoria, IL 61611.
