Margaret "Maggie" Louise (Lange) Erickson

Margaret L. "Maggie" Erickson, 93, of Washington, IL passed away at 6:50 am on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka in Eureka, IL.

She was born on June 26, 1929, in rural Egypt Mills, MO, to Herbert and Lula (Haupt) Lange. She married 2nd/Lt. William F. Erickson on August 15, 1952 in Cape Girardeau, MO. He passed away on August 3, 1996.

Surviving are her nephew, John Lange of St. Charles, MO; niece, Rebecca Jones of Cape Girardeau, MO; and her many friends on Royal Court where she lived for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Richard Lange, brother and sister-in-law Maurice and Marie Lange, and infant great-niece Jessica Lange.

Maggie attended schools and college in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was employed by Southeast Mo. Telephone Company, now A.T. & T. After she and Bill moved to Peoria in 1953, she was employed by R.G. LeTourneau in 1956 and then WABCO, now Komatsu Mining Systems, for 15 years, leaving there as payroll supervisor in 1973.

She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Washington serving as greeter. Before moving to Washington, Maggie was a 44 year member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in East Peoria, IL.

Maggie and Bill traveled or camped in all states in the United States and toured seven foreign countries. Maggie later traveled to Alaska and Hawaii. She was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and was a previous Red Hatter. She enjoyed playing board games, especially Mexican Train or Push. Maggie preferred working outdoors or washing her car instead of house work.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Pastor Mike Gallagher officiating. No visitation will be held. Burial will follow her service at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka, 610 West Cruger Avenue, Eureka, IL 61530 or to Threads, Hope and Love, 121 Zinser Place, Washington, IL 61571.
