Margaret "Margie" Lois (Peterson) Anderson

February 18, 1943 — August 12, 2025

Metamora

Margaret Lois (Peterson) Anderson passed away at her home in Metamora, IL on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 82 years old. She often said her greatest desire was to come face to face with Jesus, her Savior which is where she is now.

Margie was born February 18, 1943 in Valley City, North Dakota to Richard and Jessie Peterson. She was the youngest of three children.  She graduated from Valley City High School and then went on to receive her teaching degree. She touched the lives of many students and especially enjoyed taking the students who struggled under her wing and helping them flourish.

In February 1972 she married Glenn Anderson. He wrapped his arms around her and her kids. They moved to England with the U.S. Air Force. Once there, she was invited into a Bible study and began an intimate walk with Jesus, giving her life to Him. Glenn and Margie expanded their family and enjoyed military life until he retired in 1978 when they moved back to Wisconsin to begin life on the farm. Ironically, she said she would never marry a farmer and that's exactly where God put her. She lived on the farm for 40 years: mowing, gardening, taking care of her home, watching kids grow up and have children of their own. She was known for being a fierce prayer warrior, always encouraging others to grow in our walk with God and challenging each one to get in His Word daily.

Margie is survived by her children, Cory (John) Schneider, Mike (Kim) Anderson, Jennifer (Jacob) Cryder, John (Kelsey) Anderson, and Dave (Sara) Wattenford; siblings, Bruce (Kathy) Peterson and Carol Redmann,; nineteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many other loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Glenn Anderson, great-granddaughter Emma Joy, and several other close family members.
