Mae A. Magnuson

Mae A. Magnuson, 88, of Washington, IL passed away at 6:35 am on Sunday, January 19, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.  She was born on November 15, 1931 in Peoria, IL to Arthur A. and Viola M. (Bolton) Samms.  She married Jack L. Brecklin, Sr. in 1951 in Peoria.  They were married for 34 years prior to his passing on June 27, 1988.  Mae then married Paul H. Magnuson in 1993.  He passed away in 2015.

Surviving are her two sons Jack L. (Lisa) Brecklin, Jr. of East Peoria and Dan (Susan) Brecklin of Tavares, Florida; five grandchildren Dustin (Stephanie) Brecklin, Adam (Jill) Brecklin, Nate (Brooklyn) Brecklin, Kalie Brecklin, and Beau Brecklin; five great-grandchildren Paige, Austin, Kaeden, Avery, and Dawson Brecklin; and sister Judy (Marion) Beeney of East Peoria.  She was preceded in death by her son Stephen Brecklin and siblings Arthur Samms, Ann Hany, and Midge Nieukirk.

Mae was a hair stylist who owned her own business.  She was a member of Fondulac Congregational Church in East Peoria.  She enjoyed dancing and shopping.  Mae was all about her children and grandchildren.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 pm on Friday, January 24, 2020 at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington with Reverend Nick Oyler officiating.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until time of her service on Friday at the funeral home.  Burial of Ashes will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington at a later date.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Alzheimer's Association Central Illinois Chapter, 614 West Glen Avenue, Peoria, IL 61614.  Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
