Lowell A. Durst, Sr.

Lowell A. Durst, Sr., 80, of East Peoria, IL, formerly of Peoria, IL, passed away at 8:29 am on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Accolade Health Care of East Peoria.

He was born on September 4, 1943, in East Peoria, IL, to Harlan H. and Thelma (Haedicke) Durst.

Surviving are his son, Lowell (Nicole) Durst, Jr. of Sioux Falls, SD; daughter, Kathy (Patrick) Durbin of Henry, IL; grandchildren, Felicia (Andy) Finch, Terry Durst, Paul Hawn, Thomas (Christina) Hawn, and Nicole Hawn; seven great-grandchildren; and ten siblings, Larry (Cindy) Durst, Emerson (Tammy) Durst, Albert (Denise) Durst, Johnny (Deana) Durst, Carl (Karin) Durst, Jim Durst, Laura Urban, Donna Durst, and Bonnie Durst. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Howard Durst, Rosie Upole, and Clifford Durst.

Lowell was a mechanic for Midwest Construction. He liked wrestling, fishing, cookouts, and giving people a hard time. The most important thing he liked to do was spend time with Maisie, his great-granddaughter, and his grandkids. Lowell helped a lot of people when they needed help. He was a great mentor and he will be deeply missed by all.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel.
