Lowell Edward Baker

Lowell Edward Baker, 84, of Metamora, IL passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022, in Metamora.

Lowell was born on May 30, 1937 in New Madison, OH, to Vern D. and Ruby I. (Coover) Baker. He married Lula Belle Clayton on August 30, 1986 at Christian Union Church in Metamora.

Surviving are his wife, Lula of Metamora; son, Raymond E. (Renee) Baker of Plainview, TX; grandchildren, Kevin Baker, Lexi Baker, and Amberle Baker; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-son Jeffrey Lee Clayton, brother Paul Baker, and sister Doris Brewer.

Lowell worked as an electronics technician at Hobart Welders for 30 years. He was a member of Christian Union Church in Metamora and also the Taylor Masonic Lodge #98 in Washington, receiving his 50 year pin. He was a ham radio operator and enjoyed traveling.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel in Germantown Hills, IL. Cremation rites will be held following the visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Taylor Masonic Lodge #98, 119 North Wilmor Road, Washington, IL 61571.
