Louise R. (Noack) Wells

Louise R. Wells, 88, of Metamora, IL, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

She was born on November 1, 1935, in Peoria, IL, to Harry and Ella (Keyser) Noack. She married Joe Alvin Wells on June 21, 1958 in Peoria, IL, and they enjoyed over 65 years together. He passed away on October 7, 2023.

Louise was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Louise was an adoring matriarch for the family.

Surviving are her children, Michael Wells of Chandler, AZ and Michele (the late Jeffrey) Callaway of Germantown Hills, IL; grandchildren, Megan (James) Weekley, Caitlin (Lee) Cleary, and Kirsten Callaway; great-grandchildren, Lillie Weekley, Henry Joe Weekley, and Quinn Cleary; and sister-in-law, Georgetta Noack of Peoria Heights, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Jeffrey Callaway, and brothers Harry Noack, Jr., Robert Noack, William Noack, and Charles Noack.

Louise was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed bowling and playing bridge, went to monthly lunches with Manual Training High School Class of 1953, was a longtime member of Metamora Woman's Club, holding office of President, and was voted Woman of the Year in 2009. Louise adored her dogs, Mitzi and Duchess, throughout her life.

A private family graveside service will be held in Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital Midwest Affiliate, 530 NE Glen Oak Avenue, Peoria, IL 61637.
