Lorna A. Nordbusch age 82 of Germantown Hills, Illinois passed away peacefully at 1:25pm Wednesday August 10, 2011 while surrounded by her family. She was born Dec.4, 1928 in Low Point, Il to Ralph and Angie (Robinson) Adami. She married Charles F. Nordbusch on Sept. 1, 1956 in Peoria. He passed away on Dec. 17, 1981. Surviving are her children; Ellen (Simon) Bazley of Ottawa, Ontario Canada, Linda Gehrig of Germantown Hills, Michael (Theresa) Nordbusch of Strongsville OH. Grandchildren; Stephanie, Sarah, and Martina Gehrig, Kirk and Rachel Nordbusch, and Lauren Bazley. She is also survived by one brother Richard (Evelyn) Adami of Washburn. She was preceded in death by one sister Aileen Sherman. Lorna grew up in the Washburn area, attended Washburn High School, and never forgot her farm girl roots. She worked as a telephone operator at Commercial National bank of Peoria where she met her husband Charles. As a homemaker, spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends gave Lorna her greatest enjoyment. She loved the great outdoors, wildlife, and her extensive flower gardens. In addition Lorna was a 4-H club leader for many years, an election judge for Woodford County, and a member of the Pimiteoui Trail Association. Lorna was active in the Germantown Hills community and gave freely of her time. She enjoyed many trips abroad including China, Russia, Australia and Europe, and was always ready for new adventures. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Sunday August 14, 2011 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Rev. Gary Salm officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 1pm until 4pm and also one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Metamora.
