Loren D. Zimmerman

Loren D. Zimmerman, 87, of Metamora, IL passed away surrounded by loved ones on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Snyder Village in Metamora after a long battle with Frontotemporal Dementia.

Loren was born on November 19, 1935 in Peoria, IL to parents Anna and Levi Zimmerman and was raised in Metamora.

He was a 1953 graduate of Metamora High School where he met his future wife of 66 years, Donna Byerly, and went on to graduate from Bradley University.  He was president of Byerly Music for many years and later retired as an agent with Farmers Insurance.

He was preceded in death by his father, Levi Zimmerman, mother, Anna Zimmerman, and brother, Gene Zimmerman.

He is survived by his wife Donna; daughters, Janice (Christopher) Lewis of Crystal Lake, IL and Susan (Paul) Flessner of Bainbridge Island, WA; son, David (Kati) Zimmerman of Seattle, WA; brothers, Richard Zimmerman, James Zimmerman, and Michael Zimmerman; six grandchildren, Matthew Lewis, Michael Lewis, Meghan Armeli, Andrew Flessner, Jonathan Flessner, and Lucia Zimmerman; and four great-grandchildren.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 19, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Metamora.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until mass time, also on Monday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Snyder Village Hall 2 Memory Care, 1200 East Partridge Street, Metamora, IL 61548.  Online condolences at www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
