Lois I (Zook) Greer

Lois I. Greer, 93, formerly of Washington, IL, died at Lutheran Hillside Village on Monday, October 3, 2022. She was born March 25, 1929, in Congerville, IL, to Guilford D. and Florence Reeser Zook. She married David R. Greer on July 5, 1953, in Congerville.

Surviving are her husband, one son, David (Amy) Greer of Sterling Heights, MI., and one daughter, Ann (David) Schertz of Byron, IL. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Daniel (Katelyn) Greer, Jonathan Greer, Jessica (Aaron) Nehring, Stephanie Schertz (Chris Nicholson), and Jacob (Jenny) Schertz; six great-grandchildren, and one brother, Guilford (Eve) Zook of Eureka. One sister, Marjorie Hoffman, preceded her in death.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Peoria and a member of the United Methodist Women's Association. She was also a member of the Proctor Hospital Service Auxiliary.

Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 am, Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the chapel of Lutheran Hillside Village. There will be no visitation before her service. The family will receive friends immediately following her service at the Schwindenhammer Room also at Lutheran Hillside Village. Private burial will be in Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka, IL, at a later date. Memorials may be made to World Vision P.O.
