Lois E. Kirkpatrick

Lois E. Kirkpatrick, 89, of Washington passed away at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Washington Christian Village surrounded by her family.

She was born December 13, 1927 in Bear Creek, AL, daughter of Silas and Leota Brakefield Birdyshaw. She married Arthur Kirkpatrick on August 10, 1946 in Tupelo, MS. He passed away on February 14, 1989. One brother and three sisters also preceded her in death.

Surviving are two sons Donald (Darlene) Kirkpatrick of Owensville, MO; Harold "Hal" (Suzette) Kirkpatrick of East Peoria, IL and one daughter Patricia "Trish" (Tom) Dalton of Washington, IL. Also surviving are five grandchildren, several great grandchildren, step great grandchildren, step great great grandchildren.

She was the last surviving charter member of Sunnyland Church of the Nazarene. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at her church. She was an accomplished seamstress.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 19, 2017 at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will be Sunday, June 18, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be one-hour prior to her service. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be given to Sunnyland Church of the Nazarene.
