Lois Jeanne Boertlein

Lois Jeanne Boertlein, 73, of Eureka, IL passed away peacefully at 10:48 pm on Monday, March 30, 2020 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on August 23, 1946 in Bonne Terre, MO to Alden D. and Lois E. (Seal) Sebastian. She married Robert Boertlein on June 24, 1967 in Washington IL. He survives.

Also surviving are her 5 children Julianne (Kevin) Rednour of Eureka, Joel (Selina) Boertlein of Jacksonville NC, Jannelle Swiger of Eureka, Johanna (Jesse) Purvis of Morton, and Jarrod Boertlein of the Czech Republic; 8 grandchildren Makenzie, Jonathan, and Corrigan Boertlein, Dakota Conway, Anakin and Kaelyn Swiger, Giselle and Julian Purvis; 2 brothers Alden D. (Peggy) Sebastian II, Ironton, MO and Herb (Carol) Sebastian, Eureka; her beloved "Aunt Pat" Patricia Leach, Harrisonville, MO, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Her family moved from Missouri to Washington, IL where she grew up and later to Eureka, IL where she raised her own family. She attended Eureka College, Midstate College (where she met her husband Bob)and ICC. She held a degree in Music and several certifications including food service sanitation and CNA. She spoke several languages and was fluent in German. Besides home-schooling her children she taught private music lessons to all ages and Kindermusik classes to the young. Jeanne loved gardening, cooking, and baking. She taught her children the value of hard work and to love God. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and known for her strong faith, reaching out to any and all in her community sharing scriptures of encouragement and a hope for the future. She looked forward to the fulfillment of Matthew 6:9,10 and Revelation 21:3,4 when Christ as King of God's Kingdom will transform the earth into a paradise and bring blessings to all of mankind.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to a local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses or online at JW.org.
