Obituary

Lieselotte "Lottie" M. Bell, 91, of Washington, Illinois, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, February 2, 2026, at her residence.

She was born on May 25, 1934, in Germany, to Ludwig and Philomena Miller Mayinger. She married Joseph Bell on August 27, 1955, who passed away on December 13, 1990.

Surviving are one daughter, Debbie (Tim) Behm of Washington, two grandsons, TJ and Cameron Behm, both of Washington. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Cooper, Levi, and Easton, with Duncan expected in April. Though Lottie made her home in the United States after immigrating in the 1950s, she never lost touch with her roots. She remained closely connected to her second cousin Gitta Finger in Konigsbrunn, Germany, cherishing a family bond that spanned decades, distance, and generations - a testament to the importance she placed on family and heritage.

A homemaker who loved working in her yard, she was a member of the German American Society and St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cremation rites have been completed. The family will hold a private celebration of life at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington with interment at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Jude or Mary, St. Patrick Catholic
Church. To share a memory or send condolences, visit www.masonfuneralhomes.com.
