Leonard W (Butch) Marsh, 84, beloved Father, Spouse, Son, Father-in-law, Grandfather, Great-grandfather, and Brother, was called to Heaven on April 23, 2025.

Leonard was born on June 7, 1940, in East Peoria, IL, the son of Leonard and Dorothy Marsh.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Tim) VanAntwerp, and one son, Jarrod Marsh. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jessica Patricia Marsh (Abel) Garcia; Ashley Borton & Andrew Jansen; Karlene Moore & Jacob Marsh; great-grandchildren Jade, Paula, & Penelope Garcia; Lexi Borton & Olivia Fay; Richard & Peter Jansen; Emma Moore. He is further survived by one sister, Jean (Dan) DeMent, and one brother, John (Pam) Marsh.

His wife Paula, one son, Patrick, and one daughter-in-law, Carey, preceded him in death.

Leonard served his country with honor in the U.S. Army before being honorably discharged. He is a proud East Peoria High School graduate and enjoyed a distinguished career, culminating in his successful retirement from Caterpillar Tractor Co.

Leonard deeply loved the Lord and found great joy in reading his Bible. His heart was devoted to caring for and providing for his family. He delighted in the soothing sounds of jazz and the vibrant rhythms of big band music. Leonard treasured his wife, siblings, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and the beloved Babcook family in Iowa.

A true man of integrity, he led by example, embodying honesty and compassion in all that he did. He cherished the beauty of simple moments, becoming a profound source of wisdom and comfort to those around him. Though he may now be in Heaven, we will forever hear echoes of his laughter in our hearts.

While there will be no public services, Leonard's family will privately celebrate his life. To honor his memory, his family invites you to share your favorite stories and memories of Leonard.
