Leona R. Bockler

Leona R. Bocker age 101 of Snyder Village, Metamora Illinois passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Proctor Unity-Point Methodist Hospital in Peoria. Born July 29, 1912 in Linn Township, Woodford County, Illinois to John and Minnie (Schoon) Miller. She married Clarence J. Schupp on October 6, 1940. He died November 8, 1971. She later married Roy A. Bockler on November 18, 1977. He died June 25, 1996. Her parents and beloved brother Harvey J. (Dorothy) Miller preceded her in death. Surviving are three step-children Don (Paulette) Bocker of Peoria, Roy E. (Debbie) Bockler of Pekin, Beverly K. McNeeley of Peoria and six grandchildren: Danielle Bockler, Steve (Cara) Bockler, Michael Bockler, Nicholas Bockler, Jennifer McNeeley-Norman and Michele (Brandon) Beekman, as well as one great grandchild, Drew Bockler. Leona was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, in Benson, Illinois and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Metamora. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday Jan. 22, 2014 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Benson with Reverend Bill Hecht officiating. Visitation will be from 10am until service time at the church. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church 1781 County Road 2000E Benson, Illinois 61516 and Snyder Village.
