Leland Kenneth Neff

Leland K. Neff, age 99 ½, departed this earth on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, to be with his best friend and wife, Wanda, and their youngest son, Gale.

He is survived by Gale’s wife Erin, their two children, son Trevor and daughter Shawna Graddy, her husband Marchello, and their children Brenna and Brayden great-grandchildren. Also, his eldest son David L. Neff and his son David Michael Neff will miss him with great memories of the life he has shared with them all.

Leland was a resident at Snyder Village in Metamora since August 2008, spending his last month on earth living with his son Davie. He was the oldest living member of Sheet Metal Union Local 1 with over 80 years of membership. He served our country in the U.S. Navy in both World War II and the Korean War as a ship’s cook in various capacities.

Leland is the last remaining sibling of his family. Until his passing, he was active riding a tricycle, playing pinochle, Euchre, pool, and bingo. A devoted Cubs fan throughout his life making his last trip to Wrigley for his 90th birthday. Leland enjoyed his music, especially Country Western and Lawrence Welk. Although he lost his taste and smell a few years ago, he maintained a rigid like or dislike for what he ate and would not cross the line to try something new.

Per Leland’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and no services will be held. Burial of Ashes will be held at Resurrection Cemetery and Mausoleum in Peoria, IL at a later date.
