Lawrence W. "Tony" "Chet" "Larry" Gresham age 77 of Peoria Heights, Illinois passed away at 4:09pm Thursday Jan. 5, 2012 at the home of his son Kenny Gresham. He was born Feb. 17, 1934 in Washington, IL to Leo and Olive (Smith) Gresham. He was united in marriage on Sept. 1, 1963 to Judy Fellows in Peoria, IL., she survives. Surviving are his children Kenneth (Lucy) Gresham of Washburn, IL and Teresa Morrissey of London, England. Grandchildren: Kenny (Sara) Gresham Jr., Jennifer Gresham and great grandchildren Alyssa, Andrew, Alaina, Will, and Gaige. He is also survived by sisters: Nellie Gresham of Kearney, NE, Marilyn Cooley of Shenandoah, TX, and Barbara Swanson of Washburn, IL. Brothers: Harrison Gresham of Garnavillo, IA and Herbert (Peg) Gresham of Peoria Heights, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters Doris Myers, and Betty Siebdrath and 2 brothers Clarence and Walter Gresham. Lawrence served his Country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict serving from 1952-1960. He was owner of Highland Hills Landscaping in E. Peoria. He enjoyed Flea Markets, Garage Sales and Coin Collecting. He was a big Chet Atkins fan and loved playing his many guitars over the years. He enjoyed watching his grandson Kenny Jr. race stock cars and loved playing gospel music and speaking the word of god to many nursing home residents. He was of the Baptist faith. A Memorial service will be at 7:00pm Monday Jan. 9, 2012 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Rev. Charles Buegel officiating. Visitation will be from 5pm until service time at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded with burial of ashes at a later date. Memorials may be made to Methodist Hospice.
