WASHINGTON?Laura Belle Stark, 70, of Sunnyland, passed away early Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at her home with her family by her side. Laura was born on May 29, 1943 in Carlinville to Everett and Lillie (Cunningham) Baker. She married William Stark on August 27, 1959 in Auburn, Illinois. Bill died on February 5, 1999 in Peoria. Among those surviving is her mother of Springfield; their three children, Gary Stark and Susan (Steve) Fugitt, both of Washington and Sheila Fugitt of Peoria; one brother, Charles (Doris) Baker of Chatham; three sisters, Anna (Ray) Jones and Ida (Tom) Miller, both of Auburn and Linda Rynders of Springfield; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Laura was a member of Highview Christian Church in Washington and ABBAS Cauldron #49 of East Peoria. She loved her gardening, as well as baking, cooking and doing crafts when she had the opportunity. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at Highview Christian Church with Pastor Stuart Couve officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens, south of Washington. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington and half hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be directed to the OSF Hospice or American Cancer Society.
