Larry Lee Lutes

Larry Lee Lutes, 85, of Metamora, IL, passed away at 10:17 pm on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

He was born on May 22, 1941, in Peoria, IL, to Coy and Dorothy (Rhodes) Lutes. He married Janice Mae Wohlers on December 16, 1973 at the Creve Coeur Christian Church.

Surviving are his wife, Janice of Metamora, IL; children, David (Terri) Linzenmeyer of Taylor, TX, Mark (Ronna) Linzenmeyer of Bluefield, WV, Dawn Robertson of South Whitley, IN, Kriss (Keith) Wernsman of Germantown Hills, IL, Terry Lutes of Pekin, IL, Kevin Linzenmeyer of Germantown Hills, IL, Candy (Patrick) Bogner of East Peoria, IL, and Tracy Lutes Vanderheydt of Pekin, IL; sixteen grandchildren; and thirty great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Lutes.

Larry was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving in the Navy Reserves. Larry had worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company as a machinist for 30 years until his retirement. He had also worked for Quail Meadows Golf Club for 23 years as a groundskeeper. Larry enjoyed participating in the Jaycees, bowling and was a bowling Masters President, playing the organ, and golfing. He was also a Chicago Cubs fan. His favorite thing was being with family.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Spring Bay American Legion.
