L. Keith Hicks

L. Keith Hicks, 88, of Germantown Hills, IL, passed away at 6:26 am on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Snyder Village in Metamora, IL.

He was born on August 14, 1935, in Mayfield, KY, to Dane and Wanda (Hutchison) Hicks. He married Jill Y. Rees on September 5, 1959 in Peoria Heights, IL. His beautiful bride, Jill, passed away on November 6, 2020.

He is survived by his three children, Dr. Craig (Teri) Hicks of Eagle, WI, Kevin (Annie) Hicks of Germantown Hills, IL, and Dana (Brian) Lovell of Peoria, IL; nine grandchildren, Alliya (Caleb) Padiak, Marissa Hicks, Elysa Hicks, Colin Hicks, Ian Hicks, Seth (Hannah) Lovell, Jessica (Dwaine) Dembry, Molly Lovell, and Eric (Joy) Lovell; and four great-grandchildren, Jarone and Aliviah Dembry and Oskar and Booker Lovell. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister June Thomas.

Keith was a U.S. Army Veteran. He worked as an assistant purchaser for Caterpillar Tractor Company. Keith was an avid reader and Cardinals fan, enjoyed working in his yard, enjoyed all sports, and loved music. Keith was a member of Great Oaks Community Church in Germantown Hills. He loved God, held high school youth bible study group in his home, and volunteered in the toddler section at various churches he attended. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel with Reverend Dan Cox officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon until service time, also on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hickory Point Cemetery in Metamora.
