Kristine "Teena" E. McCarthy

Kristine E. “Teena” McCarthy, 77, of Washington, Illinois, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, surrounded by care and comfort of family and friends after a courageous battle with cancer.

Teena was born on September 4, 1948, in Peoria, Illinois, the beloved daughter of Robert J. and Loretta Fries McCarthy. She later found lasting love and companionship when she married William “Bill” Morrill on September 1, 1984, in San Angelo, Texas.

Teena will be lovingly remembered by her dedicated husband, William; her cherished daughter, Laura (Andy) Wiegand of Washington; and her adored grandchildren; Shane Wiegand of Washington, Illinois, and Elizabeth Wiegand of Brooklyn, New York. She is also survived by her devoted sisters, Lisa (George) Coyle of Colorado City, Texas, and Lori McCarthy of Peoria, Illinois, many nieces and nephews, along with the extended Wiegand family and friends who were touched by her thoughtfulness and kindness. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, Cary, and Richard McCarthy, and her sisters, Nikki Stiffler and Priscilla McCarthy.

After retiring in 2010, Teena looked back with pride on a career spent in the healthcare industry, most recently serving as a claims adjuster. True to her generous spirit, she also dedicated countless hours to volunteering, offering her time, compassion, and energy to causes close to her heart.

A Celebration of Life honoring Teena will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, beginning at noon at Five Points Washington, Illinois. Family and friends are invited to gather, share cherished stories, and enjoy a lunch featuring some of her favorite foods in remembrance of a life well lived. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Teena’s name to the Center for Prevention of Abuse.
