Kristine M. Carius, 74, of Washington, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, in the Emergency room of Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Illinois.
Kristine was born on December 14, 1951, in Peoria, Illinois. She was the beloved daughter of Paul White and Mary Kacura. After the passing of her mother, Mary, her father later married Ida Beck, who was a precious person in Kristine's life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary, Paul, and Ida; her infant daughter, Amy Marie Carius; and her brother, Tom White (Chris) of Washington, Illinois.
Kristine is survived by her devoted husband, David Carius, with whom she shared 55 wonderful years of marriage grounded in faith, love, and devotion. She is also survived by her daughter, Pamela Carius-Jones (Matthew Jones) of Peoria; her son, David Carius Jr. (Tracey Carius) of Washington, IL; and her cherished grandchildren, Felicity and Ethan Carius.
She is lovingly remembered by her siblings, Pat White (Colleen) of Alaska, Rick White (Sue) of Michigan, and Paula Sloan (Darwin) of Arizona.
Kristine accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1968 after meeting her soon-to-be husband, David. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life and shaped how she loved and served others. Guided by her love for the Lord, Kristine faithfully served in multiple church communities over the years-beginning with Grace Bible Church, then Community Bible Church, and ultimately Liberty Bible Church in Eureka, Illinois. These groups of Believers held a special place in her heart, where she faithfully taught generations of children about the love of Jesus Christ.
Devoted to her family, Kristine always put the needs of her loved ones before her own. Whether traveling the world to be present for special moments or offering encouragement and care in times of need, she lived a life marked by compassion and grace.
For nearly two years, Kristine bravely battled cancer with unwavering faith and strength. Though her body grew tired, her spirit remained steadfast, and she entered eternal peace in the arms of her Savior.
She will be remembered for her deep faith, gentle spirit, and endless love for family and friends-a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
By now, Kristine has been told by her Lord and Savior, "Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23.
