Kent Eugene Borton

Kent Eugene Borton, 61, of Washington, IL passed away in the loving arms of his wife, in their home on February 28, 2022, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Kent was born on January 17, 1961, to Donald and Janet Redman Borton in Peoria, IL. Kent was known as a gifted carpenter, a skill he learned alongside his uncle Dale, father, brother, and nephew throughout his life and while working as a Carpenter Foreman with Aupperle Construction for over 25 years. He was a proud member of the Illinois Carpenters Union 183. His greatest and proudest accomplishment was his family. Kent was blessed to have met his soulmate as a teenager, Lynne Koehl, and they were married on January 27, 1988. They had three children together; Jacob Borton, Jessi Borton, and Nicholas Borton. He was quiet, strong, and smart. He worked hard and loved even harder. He was the protector and provider for his wife and his kids. He was happiest at home and took pride in working with his hands in his garage. He also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles on his computer, building rc cars and loved giving his dogs treats on their dedicated treat schedules. If you were lucky enough to get him talking, you would always get his honest opinion, and a chance to see his kind heart and witty sense of humor. Kent is survived by his wife, Lynne M. Borton (Koehl), two of his children - Jessi L. Borton and Nicholas W. Borton, his parents, Janet and Donald Borton, sister,  Kelly (Fred) Cooley, brother, Kurt Borton, sister, Mindy (Todd) Hollingsworth, and many nieces and nephews who loved and supported him. Kent was preceded in death by his beloved son Jacob Andrew. Kent fought hard to stay with his family. His unconditional love has been and always will be unmatched. We are so proud and grateful. We will carry this loss with us for the rest of our lives.
