Kenneth Wind

Kenneth "Ken" S. Wind, 87, of Normal, IL, passed away on August 28, 2023, at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.

He was born on December 15, 1935, to Joseph and Mildred (Blumenshine) Wind in Deer Creek, IL. They preceded him in death. He married Darlene Scrivner in 1984. She survives.

Also surviving are one brother, Gordon (Judy) Wind, Madison, IN; daughters: Kendra Coleman, Bloomington, and Karen (Joe) Forbes, Washington, IL; stepdaughters: Cheryl Wollrab, Bloomington, and Carol (Dan) Deavers, Mount Dora FL; three grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and one step-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews, and his best friend Rich Hutchinson, Lincoln IL.

He graduated from Washington Community High School and attended Browns Business College in Peoria, IL.

He worked at A&P grocery stores in Washington and Pekin and was co-owner of Eastgate IGA in Bloomington. He retired from El Paso IGA in 2020.

He loved spending time with family and friends, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and camping.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Calvary Community Church, where visitation will be one hour before services. Pastor Clayton Tinervin will be officiating.
