Kenneth W. Van De Veer

Illinois to Willard T. and Elsie (Eckoff) Van De Veer. He married Sandra L. Logsdon on March 6, 1976 in Marquette Heights, Illinois. She survives. Surviving are his children; Cindy (Merle) Guy and Michael (Denise) Van De Veer both of Washburn, IL. Grandchildren; Carrie (John) Hultgren of Pattonsburg, IL, Bruce (Jess) Guy of Manito, IL, and Steve (Deidre) Guy of Washburn, IL. Ken is also survived by great grandchildren, Breckin Guy and Ethan Hultgren. He was preceded in death by one son Kenneth Van De Veer Jr., 2 brothers and one sister. He owned Ken Van De Veer Painting and Decorating from 1970-1986 he than purchased Rosentreter Painting and Decorating and continued working until his retirement. Ken enjoyed playing euchre, birdwatching and country music. He was very creative, a master craftsman and painter. Ken loved horses and dogs, particularly his yellow lab, Gabe who will be lost without him. Ken was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. His kind heart and willingness to help others was a fine example to his family and friends. He will be missed by many. Ken and Sandy attended Cazenovia Mennonite Church. Services will be at 11:00am Tuesday July 19, 2011 at Cazenovia Mennonite Church with Dennis Kennell officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5pm until 8pm at the Mason Funeral Home Metamora Chapel and also one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Linn Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Washburn, IL.
