Kenneth B. "Chip" Rubel

Kenneth B. “Chip” Rubel, 64, of Spring Bay, IL, passed away surrounded by his daughters on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

He was born on September 29, 1961, in Peoria, IL, to Charles R. and Velva F. Greer.

Surviving are his daughters, Kerri (Gary) of Warm Springs, AR and Cassie (Tyler) Kelso of Crawfordsville, IN; grandchildren, Isaak Tucker, Kristian Kelso, and Jackson Kelso; mother, Velva Ballard; siblings, Rick Rubel, Chuck (Barb) Rubel, Deb Matheny, and Kim (Kenny) Thurston all of Bayview Gardens, IL, Tim Rubel of Spring Bay, IL, Jeff (Maxine) Rubel of Bartonville, IL, and Julie Rubel of East Peoria, IL; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, paternal and maternal grandparents, sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Jamie Lotz, brother-in-law, Ray Matheny, sister-in-law, Cathy Rubel, two nephews, and three cousins.

Chip loved golf, pool, and NASCAR. He traveled to Hawaii with friends several times to golf and was an avid pool player, winning several tournaments. Chip loved his girls and grandsons with his whole heart.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel with Pastor Bob DeBolt officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to his service. Burial of Ashes will be in Spring Bay Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to The Ark Humane Society, 477 State Route 26, Lacon, IL 61540.
