Kenneth L. Parker

Kenneth L. "Ken" Parker, 71, of Metamora, IL passed away at 12:55 am on Monday, September 14, 2015 at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born on March 20, 1944 in Ottumwa, IA to William O. and Geraldine I. (Barnes) Parker. He married Judith L. Lane on September 18, 1965 in Bartonville, IL. She survives. Also surviving are children Trina (Richard) Dotson and Kenneth L. Parker II both of Metamora; grandchildren Riley Parker of Peoria Heights and Jacob Parker of Brimfield; and great-granddaughter Brie Waddell of Peoria Heights. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother William F. Parker. Ken was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving for 28 years, retiring as a Sr. Chief. He worked as a nuclear electrician on submarines. He later worked as a supervisor for Caterpillar at the proving grounds. Ken enjoyed fishing and was a Cardinals and Dolphins fan. He was a family man through and through. Cremation rites have been accorded. No services will be held. Memorials may be given in Ken's name to OSF Hospice, 2265 West Altorfer Drive, Peoria, IL 61615.
