Kenneth Ray “Ken” Mann, 78, of Germantown Hills, IL, passed away at 12:55 pm on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Roanoke, IL.
He was born on July 13, 1947, in Evansville, IN, to Raymond and Hilda (Collignon) Mann. He married Debbi J. Shewry in 1978 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Davenport, IA.
Surviving are his wife, Debbi of Germantown Hills; son, Corey (Kristie) Mann of Germantown Hills, IL; daughter, Whitney (Scott) Horrell of St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren, Sebastyan, Gwendolynn, Ryne, Everett, and William; and five cousins, Judy Mehringer of Jasper, IN, Marcia Griffith of Bedford, TX, Terri Padgett of Houston, TX, Gerri Klass of Evansville, IN, and Ruth Gates of Enfield, IL. His beloved dogs, Fozzie and Coco, also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ken graduated with a bachelor's degree from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Evansville. He worked as a metallurgical engineer in the track-type tractor division at Caterpillar Tractor Company for over 30 years. He previously served as president of ASM and participated in the Caterpillar golf and bowling leagues. His passions included golfing, gardening - both flowers and vegetables - and feeding and caring for birds in his yard. Additionally he counted bluebirds for the Bluebird Society.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel. The visitation will take place on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. There will also be an additional visitation on Friday from 10:00 am to 10:45 am. Burial will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Metamora. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the ARK, 477 IL-26, Lacon, IL 61540 or the Alzheimer’s Association Peoria, 614 West Glen Avenue, Peoria, IL 61614 or online at https://www.alz.org/illinois.
